London Van scrap scheme

We have written numerous articles recently covering the UKs do much driving push more eco-friendly. Please be advised that some weeks ago that the area of London had installed the first fuel station for electric vehicles. Well, we are pleased to report that they are going a step further.

The unit

There is an alternate reason behind this incentive. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson announced that there will be a low emission zone (LEZ) established covering London. This LEZ is effectively an area where all vehicles must achieve emission levels agreed. If the vehicles fail to comply with the prescribed standard then they will have to pay a fine. This fine is pretty steep at $ 100 per day, so for entrepreneurs who have older fleets, this could be a huge problem.

The incentive

The great news is that Ford has jumped into account proposals from London and decided to offer a very tempting scrap scheme. Essentially, this is an extension to the schema that was offered throughout the country there are about 12 months. There has been a set of criteria for incentive to entice fleet under negotiation on their older vehicles.

As the scheme of work (here is the criterion)

Commercial vehicles should be more than 10 years.
The scheme covers Ford Fiesta, Ford Transit and Ford Transit Connect
The incentive is a new vehicle in the above range up to £ 3000. Specifically £ 1000 off Fiesta, 1500 lbs off transit connect, £ 2.000 out of transit (front wheel drive) and £ 3000 V348 transit.
Boris Johnson was extremely pleased with the inclusion of Ford in the scheme. He is happy that Londoners can negotiate until their vehicles for more efficient models. He is also happy with the fact that many of the models were produced by qualified workforce of UK.

The LEZ is part of the larger plan to make the capital more environmentally friendly. As the traffic and the population in the capital is so great a great hack would be good for the United Kingdom. The Mayor seems to have emissions of commercial vehicles in the capital well within his sights. This however is not a problem if users of incorrect vehicles can offer an affordable alternative.

What would be great would be to see other vendors follow Ford commercial vehicles on offer an incentive similar. This would create more competition in the provision of such vehicles and could try increasingly drivers to make the change. If it reaches the reduction of emissions of everybody wins.
